Modesta Family Winery

Modesta is a family-owned wine company founded in 1996 in Mindanao, Philippines. Palm wine holds deep cultural significance and has been considered a traditional beverage in many communities for centuries, often being an integral part of social gatherings, celebrations, and traditional ceremonies. Despite its historical significance, some individuals still view it as a low-class drink, failing to appreciate its cultural value.

The wine itself is a form of luxury because of the heritage and history embedded in it. The goal is to design it in a way that elevates its status by branding it as such.

Embrace the heritage.

I drew inspiration from heraldry design or the coat of arms which brings out the brand's heritage while keeping a clean, modern look. My identity design process involves collecting essential information about the brand, including its history, story, product, and values.

Beyond the bottle.

I prefer leveraging the brand's identity across the packaging to create a cohesive look. The front label is designed in the shape of the logo's crest, while every bronze element on the packaging is embossed. The back label features her last name signature, adding a personal touch to the overall look of the bottle.
